Report 003.5: Recovery of the "Spectre-Cam" Observer

Location: Sector 4 / Vaulted Annex (Lower Gilded Harvest site)

Status: Operational Calibration

Investigator: Geoff T. Green

The Recovery

Hidden beneath the floorboards of the Librarian’s father’s workspace, I found a small, pressurized case made of the same dark steel as the Spire files. Inside was a device that defies Waknukian classification. It is a sleek, palm-sized disk of matte-black metal, hovering slightly above its charging cradle by some form of localized magnetic repulsion.

The Function: Beyond the Visual

The Spectre-Cam (as the faint etching on the casing suggests) is not a simple light-catcher. It is an Autonomous Multi-Spectral Observer.

The Lens: It doesn't use glass; it uses a series of shifting liquid layers to capture frequencies outside the human "Definition."

The Drone Logic: Once activated, it shadows me at a distance of three meters, maintaining a 16:9 cinematic perspective. It seems programmed to document "Environmental Inconsistencies."

The Output: It interfaces directly with the Thinkpad, projecting images that reveal the Digital After-Images of the Tribulation. It can see the "Pixelated Static" that we biologicals only perceive as a vague, unsettling distortion in the air.

Strategic Value

This device is the only reason I can now move into Sector 7 (Blackwood). Without the Spectre-Cam, the anomalies there are invisible. With it, I can finally document the "Tears" in the world.
